From a Middle-Class Dreamer to a Living Testimony of God’s Grace — How Faith, Love, and Guidance Turned My Impossible Dreams into Reality

A Journey of Faith I Never Expected

My name is Sherjeel Javed, and I am a christian lawyer ,I was born and raised in a middle-class Christian family in Pakistan. Like many others, I dreamed of doing something meaningful with my life — but deep down, I never believed that dreams like mine could actually come true.

I studied hard, completed my LLB degree, and thought that was all I could ever achieve. But I was wrong. What I didn’t know was that God had already written a much greater story for my life — one that would take me from Pakistan to the United Kingdom, and even to the United States, to serve Him in ways I never imagined possible.

The Day That Changed Everything

In 2019, a few of my friends invited me to visit the Good Samaritan Church headquarters in Lahore. I went just to attend the Sunday service — never expecting that this visit would change the entire direction of my life.

After the service, I met Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, the Founder and Senior Pastor of Good Samaritan Church of Pakistan. From the very first moment, I felt something different. His words were filled with love and wisdom. He didn’t just preach about Jesus — he lived the message through humility, compassion, and genuine care for others.

When I asked if I could meet him later to talk, he didn’t hesitate. He was having lunch with his wife at a restaurant and simply said, “Come join us.”

I was shocked. I couldn’t believe that a high-profile Christian pastor in Pakistan would invite a young, unknown man like me to join him for lunch. But that moment — sitting at the same table with such humility and kindness — touched my heart deeply.

That day, I decided to join the Good Samaritan Church permanently. I knew I had found not only a church but a spiritual home.

Finding My True Identity in Christ

As I began attending services, studying the Word, and taking part in church activities, something started to change inside me. I found boldness in my faith, courage in my spirit, and a new motivation to live for Christ.

For the first time in my life, I understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with God — not just religion, but a living connection with Jesus Christ.

Through the teachings of Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, I also learned that being a Christian in Pakistan doesn’t mean living in fear or limitation. We are called to shine, to learn, to grow, and to make an impact — both spiritually and academically.

A Dream I Thought Was Impossible

In 2022, I shared with Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir my dream of going to the United Kingdom to continue my studies and pursue a Master of Laws (LLM) degree.

To be honest, it felt impossible. I didn’t come from a rich background. I was from a simple, middle-class family — no connections, no sponsors, no influence. But instead of laughing at my dream, Dr. Naeem encouraged me. He said, “If this is God’s will, He will make a way.”

The Good Samaritan Church prayed for me, guided me, and stood with me in every step. On October 8, 2022, by the grace of God, I arrived in the United Kingdom.

This is something that I will never forget in my life: when I arrived in the UK, the person who was supposed to pick me up and arrange my accommodation for a few days wasn’t there. I missed my bus from London to Portsmouth, and I was in panic and despair, not knowing what to do.

I called Dr. Naeem Nasir in Pakistan and explained the situation. He said, “Do not worry, we are with you.” From Pakistan, he immediately booked hotels for two nights, arranged a new bus ticket, and made sure I had enough support despite having very limited money.

Having spent years with him and his family, I knew his heart — even if he had just one pound, he would give it to help someone in need. His life is simple, humble, and unpretentious, yet he always opens his heart to help others like me. I wasn’t special to him, but I felt a love and passion that everyone connected with Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir experiences.

After those two nights, I was able to manage my own accommodation in Portsmouth, and I thank God every day for our pastor’s unwavering support.

I couldn’t believe it — I was living the dream I once thought was too big for someone like me.

The Day My Pastor Stood Beside Me Like a Father

After a year of hard work and many prayers, I completed my LLM degree at the University of Portsmouth on September 10, 2023.

When graduation day came, I wanted to share it with the person who had believed in me from the beginning. I invited Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir — not knowing if it would be possible for him to come. But God made it happen.

He was there, in the United Kingdom, standing beside me on my graduation day — like a spiritual father witnessing his son’s victory. That moment will stay in my heart forever.

Serving God Across the World

In June 2024, while I was still in the UK, Dr. Naeem Nasir encouraged me to visit the United States for three months and take part in a Christian summer camp. He said, “Use what God has given you — your faith and your education — to bless others.”

Through the recommendation of Good Samaritan Church Pakistan, I was able to serve in the camp, teaching children about the Good News of Jesus Christ.

It was there that I realized — God doesn’t just bless us to make our own lives better. He blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others.

A New Chapter — Love, Faith, and Gratitude

On August 25, 2025, I got married to Kinza, a wonderful woman of faith who shares my passion for serving God. A few weeks later, on September 10, 2025, she joined me in the UK to start our new life together.

Sometimes, I sit and think about everything that has happened — from being an ordinary young man in Pakistan to studying law in the UK, to serving in the USA, and now starting a new chapter in life.

And every time I think about it, one thing fills my heart: gratitude.

Gratitude to God, who made the impossible possible.

Gratitude to Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir and the Good Samaritan Church, who believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.

A Message to the Christian Youth of Pakistan

If you are a young Christian in Pakistan reading this — I want you to know this truth:

“God can take your small dream and turn it into a global testimony.”

Don’t give up because of your background or circumstances. Seek God first. Stay connected to your church. Learn. Grow. And believe that your faith can open doors education never could.

Through the Good Samaritan Church, I’ve seen hundreds of young people like me being guided, inspired, and transformed. We attend Sunday services, join Zoom meetings, learn about E-commerce, IT, international scholarships, and most importantly — about the Word of God.

It’s not just a ministry — it’s a movement of faith, education, and opportunity.

I am a witness that God can do miracles through obedience and mentorship. My life is living proof that faith works, that humility leads to honor, and that God never forgets His children, no matter where they come from.

I may have started as a middle-class young man with ordinary dreams — but through faith and love, I’ve become part of something extraordinary.
